Mr. Modi eyes to create jobs

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 11:58:00 pm

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set in motion the first major revamp in decades of country's archaic labour laws, part of a plan to revive the flagging economy, boost manufacturing and create millions of jobs.

Successive governments have agreed labour reform is critical to absorb 200 million Indians reaching working age over the next two decades, but fears of an ugly union-led backlash and partisan politics have prevented changes to free up labour markets. Officials at the labour ministry say this is a top priority in the government's first 100 days in office.

Country has a forest of labour laws, including anachronisms such as providing spittoons in the work place, and are so complex that most firms choose to stay small. In 2009, 84 per cent of Country's manufacturers employed fewer than 50 workers, compared to 25 per cent in China, according to a study this year by consultancy firm McKinsey & Co.

The World Bank said in a 2014 report that India has one of the most rigid labour markets in the world and "although the regulations are meant to enhance the welfare of workers, they often have the opposite effect by encouraging firms to stay small and thus circumvent labour laws".

Business leaders hope Modi, who advocates smaller government and private enterprise, will be a liberaliser in the mould of Margaret Thatcher or Ronald Reagan. Perhaps the most important change, they say, is to rules making it hard to dismiss workers.

Ascending life, descending brain

Asserting that current lifestyles in urban areas increased vulnerability to neurological problems, medical experts called for increased awareness campaigns.

Participating in a two-day seminar on neuro-intensive care at a city nursing home, neurosurgeons and neurologists said the rapid evolution of neurocritical care has enabled a drastic reduction in fatalities in neurological diseases including brain haemorrhage.

‘Because of the prevailing and constantly changing lifestyle especially in urban areas, people are now far more vulnerable to acute neurological problems, especially paralysis.

But the evolution of neurological intensive care has allowed experts to drastically cut down the fatality rate that was high in such diseases,’ said G K Prusty, senior consultant of the neurosurgery department of the Calcutta Medical Research Institute.

Claiming lack of information as a factor hindering progress in the field, neurologist Arabinda Mukherjee, said public awareness campaigns should be started to keep people informed about such diseases.

Farewell Orkut!!;Google to shutdown Orkut in September

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 11:31:00 pm
Not long gone have been the days, when we use to post scraps on each others walls. Then came the time of Facebook and Twitter and people became addicted to them and forgot the beloved Orkut.

Well,Google on Monday said it is shutting down Orkut, its "first foray into social networking," to focus on YouTube, Blogger, and Google+ services that have proven more popular.

"Because the growth of these communities has outpaced Orkut's growth, we've decided to bid Orkut farewell."said the Google engineering director Paul Golgher in a blog post.

The server switches will be pulled out on the 30th of September putting end to a revolution.

Well we all loved to show our scrap and friends count as a matter of pride over others. It was the First Social Networking experience for many of us and would be really hard to say goodbye to this old friend.

Orkut proved particularly popular in Brazil, where two years ago it was eclipsed by social networking powerhouse Facebook.

Seth Rollins wins the briefcase in WWE Money in the Bank 2014

Seth Rollins after grabbing the Briefcase
Seth Rollins is Mr. Money in the Bank after grabbing the briefcase for a guaranteed WWE world heavyweight championship title shot at tonight's pay-per-view (PPV) in Boston, Massachusetts.
During the pre-show, it was announced that Bad News Barrett would not, in fact, participate in the match due to his shoulder injury, and there would not be a replacement. That meant it was up to Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Rob Van Dam, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose to carry the show.
Ambrose superplexed Rollins off the top of one of those gigantic ladders they make look even more gigantic by littering the ring with other, smaller ladders.
Everyone took big bumps, including Swagger, the biggest guy in the match.
They set up multiple spots for Ambrose and Rollins to do battle, both on the ladder and otherwise. That was the clear focus of the match. Late, Ambrose did a big DDT spot off the ladder with Swagger and doctors came rushing down saying he had dislocated his shoulder and he couldn't continue in the match.
He demanded he be able to do so, but they rushed him to the back anyway. JBL told us he was gone and not coming back.
They continued working insane spots after he left, with Ziggler nearly breaking his back, Kingston doing the same, and Rollins working shots with his trusty chair.
He started working his way up the ladder but Ambrose came running down with a chair and delivered a million shots. That paved the way for him to go up the ladder but aright as he was about to get to the top, Kane came rushing down and put a stop to it with a choke slam, then a Tombstone.
Rollins climbed back in the ring and grabbed the briefcase to win the match with Kane holding the ladder in place for him.

QuickOffice may meet END now..

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 09:45:00 pm

Google recently indicated it will no longer offer its Quickoffice mobile productivity suite to new users. The app, which Google acquired two years ago, has been integrated into Google's existing Google Drive product. Google said it plans to pull Quickoffice from the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store in the coming weeks.

Quickoffice eventually offered several versions of its mobile productivity suite. Its key feature was compatibility with Microsoft Office. Quickoffice allowed mobile device users to view, edit, and create Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files from a variety of different handsets and tablets. Google picked the company up in 2012 and later re-released the app for free.

"With the integration of Quickoffice into the Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides apps, the Quickoffice app [will go away]," Google explained in a short blog post. "Existing users with the app can continue to use it, but no features will be added and new users will not be able to install the app." In its place, Google expects mobile device owners to use Google Drive and its associated apps.

Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides are available for free to Android and iOS devices, but not to Microsoft's Windows Phone platform. Windows Phone includes a native version of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Microsoft does offer a free version of Office Mobile to Android and iOS devices for home use, though it some cases it requires a subscription to Office 365 for business customers to access all features.

Michelle Fairley Returning To ‘Game Of Thrones’? Rumours or Truth??

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 09:45:00 pm

When Michelle Fairley’s character Catelyn Stark bit the dust in a gruesome way in season three’s Red Wedding, our hearts were slashed. But could Michelle be returning to the land of Westeros?

We are still not over the Game of Thrones Red Wedding. When Catelyn Stark’s throat was slashed, everyone could barely pick up their mouths off the floor and wipe their tears as the Stark matriarch met a bloody end. However, with the end of season four of the hit show, fans started wondering whether Michelle Fairley would return to the show in the form of Lady Stoneheart, Catelyn’s reanimated corpse. Once and for all, Michelle puts the rumors to bed and reveals the truth on her return to Game of Thrones.

‘Game Of Thrones:’ Michelle Fairley To Return?

“All I can say is she’s dead,” Michelle told. “She’s completely dead.”
But wait, does dead ever truly mean dead on a fantasy show like Game of Thrones? Her character does reanimate in the books solely for vengeance, so it’s not out of the range of possibility. Director Alex Graves already said Lady Stoneheart was “never on the docket to do this season — ever,” but fans still held out hope for a surprise appearance.
Michelle pretty much digs Catelyn Stark, and those hoping she returns as Lady Stoneheart, a deep, deep grave.
“I’m not on that show anymore. I’m not onGame of Thrones anymore. That character is dead.”
Alas, Michelle’s return to Game of Throneswasn’t meant to be. We guess we’re okay with the fact that Lady Stoneheart won’t be wreaking havoc like Westeros’ own version of the Grim Reaper.
Nevertheless, we’re just happy to see Michelle back on our television screens on a weekly basis on 24: Live Another Day. Be sure to tune in June 30 as Michelle’s spills about her wild ride on another hit show!

Are you a VULNERABLE USER ?

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 09:40:00 pm

Android users, beware: 86 percent of Google OS-based devices may contain a high-risk vulnerability.

According to June 4 data from Google, about 13.6 percent of Android devices are on 4.4 KitKat, while 10.3 percent are running version 4.3. Most (29 percent) are running 4.1.x, while 19 percent are on 4.2.x.

IBM security researchers uncovered the bug in September, quietly warning the Android Security Team, which two months later confirmed a patch for 4.4 KitKat. But the remaining Android versions do not yet have a fix, leaving them exposed to hackers.

In last week's public reveal, the IBM team explained that the vulnerability lies in the Android KeyStore, where cryptographic keys and other credentials are stored. By exploiting the flaw, hackers can obtain banking and virtual private network credentials, PINs, and unlock patterns.

This isn't exactly an open door to attackers, though. According to IBM application security research team lead Roee Hay, Google has several barriers in place to slow, if not stop, hackers from successfully exploiting the vulnerability.

With built-in data execution prevention and address space layout randomization, the Android operating system isn't a pushover. Plus, as Ars Technica pointed out, an attacker would need to have an app installed on a vulnerable handset to infiltrate user information.

But that doesn't soften the blow: the weakness resides in KeyStore, which is one of the most sensitive resources in the OS, according to Ars.

Applications that require a password to be retyped each time—banking services, for example—are at lower risk than more easily compromised apps, like Twitter, Wallach said. Similarly, users should keep an eye on those apps that load VPN credentials onto their phone, which essentially hand hackers a key to bypass the firewall.

This isn't the only security issue for Android owners. Despite multiple patches to its top products, Google admitted in April that Android 4.1.1 is still vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug, leaving about 34 percent of users exposed.

Don't go ditching your Google-based device for a more secure iOS smartphone, though: Apple's system isn't exactly foolproof.

Enjoy WINDOWS with XOLO

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 07:15:00 pm

XOLO had hoped to be the first Indian brand to launch a Windows Phone, although Micromax took that honor with its launch of two such devices a couple of weeks ago. XOLO had originally intended to release its device in the first quarter of this year, but with just days left before we enter the third quarter - the company finally unveiled its first Windows Phone, the Win Q900s.

XOLO may be late to the Windows Phone party, but it's arriving in style, and determined to get noticed. Weighing in at just 100g, the company says that this is not just the lightest Windows Phone so far, but claims that it is "clearly the lightest smart phone" available. Despite its light weight and thin body (just 7.2mm-thick), the Q900s still features some decent specs.

You'll get a 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen with HD (1280x720px) resolution, protected by scratch-resistant Dragontrail Glass, which has also featured on devices like the Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It also has a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU, Adreno 302 GPU clocked at 400MHz, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage, along with a microSD slot (for cards up to 32GB).

An 1800mAh battery is included, which the company says can be fully charged in 2.4 hours, and gives quoted standby time of up to 263 hours. Bluetooth and Wifi are available too, along with dual-SIM support, but there's no 4G connectivity, although HSPA+ speeds of up to 42Mbps are available. There's also an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, as well as a pretty decent sensor array, including accelerometer, magnetometer, and proximity and ambient light sensors.

The Win Q900s spec sheet lists only two hardware buttons - the power key and volume key; this seems to suggest that the device will have its Back, Start and Search buttons located on-screen.

The XOLO Win Q900s will be priced at around Rs.11,999 INR, and will be available in the second week of July.

Delhi University (DU) declares decision

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 06:42:00 pm

UGC on Sunday asked Delhi University to continue with the four-year B.Tech programme only for the students admitted during the academic year 2013-14, putting an end to uncertainty following rollback of the controversial FYUP.

University Grants Commission (UGC) also asked DU to ensure that colleges under it, which admitted students to the four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP), obtain approval from regulatory bodies such as UGC itself and AICTE to ensure that students under FYUP are not put to any disadvantage.

Over 2,500 students are enrolled in BTech programmes have been protesting ever since the rollback of FYUP. Scores of B.Tech and BMS students of Delhi University staged a protest this morning outside the residence of Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani, demanding that their four-year courses should not be scrapped. Students also threatened that if the varsity does not take care of their interest, they are ready to move court.

UGC, in a statement, said, “4-year B.Tech Programmes in Computer Science, Electronics, Food Technology, Instrumentation Electronics and Polymer Science {where such students were admitted in the colleges under Delhi University}and which are covered under section 22 of the UGC Act, with respect to B.Tech, may continue in these programmes only for the students already admitted for academic year 2013-14.”

The Commission was, however, silent on the Psychological Science course. This programme, also with the Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS) programme, about which the commission also remained silent, are likely to be converted into three-year courses, officials said.

The statement said that “the colleges under Delhi University, which admitted students in academic year 2013-14 for these programmes may, wherever required, obtain appropriate approval of the regulatory bodies such as UGC and AICTE and ensure that students admitted in these programmes are not put to any disadvantage”.

Under pressure from UGC to act on its directive, DU has scrapped its FYUP and reverted to the previous three-year structure.

Glass gets BANNED...!

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 06:32:00 pm

It has only been a few days since Google Glass first became available in the UK, but the wearable device is already being banned from local cinemas across the country over piracy risk.

Aside from allowing its wearer to read emails and access the Internet through a display fixed above the right eye, Google Glass also lets its users to take videos with just a simple stroke of a finger over its frame or through voice command. This specific capability of the high-tech gadget worries cinema owners that pirates will use it to illegally record the latest Hollywood films.

"Customers will be requested not to wear these into cinema auditoriums, whether the film is playing or not," Clapp, chief executive of the Cinema Exhibitors' Association, told the Independent. The Vue cinema chain, on the other hand, told the British newspaper their staff would ask moviegoers to remove the Glass "as soon as the lights dim."

UK's movie industry group Federation Against Copyright Theft said it is working hand in hand with local cinemas to prevent films from being recorded using Google Glass and other new recording devices, Torrent Freak reported. "Developments in technology have led to smaller, more compact devices which have the capability to record sound and vision, including most mobile phones. FACT works closely with cinema operators and distributors to ensure that best practice is carried out to prevent and detect illegal recordings taking place," the group said.

John Cena wins WWE World Heavyweight Championship for 15th World Title reign

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 03:49:00 pm
John Cena at the victorious moments
John Cena won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match at WWE Money in the Bank to claim his 15th World Title of his career.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were out at ringside for the festivities. It was chaos early, of course, like a Royal Rumble but with only eight guys (Randy Orton, Kane, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, and Cesaro) and even more ladders. When they finally settled things down, it was to set up Kane laying everyone out and attempting to assist Orton in winning the title.
Naturally, that failed so early in the contest and everyone got their turn to climb the ladder and fight over the belts.
Then it just got ugly.
Everyone was getting involved in some form or another in the usual manner you see in matches like this. They set up everyone to win, teased victory for most of the guys in the match, then went back to the main story that Kane was there to help Orton.
This led into Reigns cleaning house, hitting a finish on damn near everyone in the match ... save for Cena. They had a staredown and brawled for a minute.
Surprisingly enough, Reigns got the better of it, spearing Cena out of the ring and leaving no one in between him and the WWE world heavyweight title.
Orton was first to recover, and he used a backbreaker to, well, break Reigns' back.
Wyatt recovered and got in to hit Orton with Sister Abigail.
Del Rio recovered and used a couple kicks to take Wyatt out.
Sheamus recovered and used a Brogue Kick to take out Del Rio.
Cesaro recovered and used an uppercut and Neutralized Sheamus.
Orton recovered again and swung Cesaro's leg off before hitting an RKO.
Then it was Reigns' turn to recover and get back in the match. With help from Kane, Reigns was taken down.
That left only John Cena to come in, lay out both Orton and Kane, and win the title.

NASA eyes Carbon-dioxide..

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 03:34:00 pm

A NASA satellite being prepared for launch early on Tuesday is expected to reveal details about where carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas tied to climate change, is being released into Earth's atmosphere on a global scale.

The two-year, $465 million project, known as the Orbiting Carbon Observatory, or OCO, also will be able to pinpoint where the planet's forests and ocean are re-absorbing atmospheric carbon, a cycle that is key to Earth's temperature.

More than 50 years of measurements show that about half the amount of carbon dioxide put into the atmosphere - by natural processes and human activities - end up being reabsorbed. The proportion has remained fairly constant even as the total amount of atmospheric carbon has climbed from concentrations of 315 parts per million in the 1950s to 400 parts per million today, studies by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography show.

The observatory will be positioned 438 miles (705 km) above the planet and inclined so that it passes over the same point on Earth at the same time every 16 days, giving scientists insight into how levels of carbon dioxide change over weeks, months and years. Because the observatory's target areas will be small - about 1 square mile (3 square km) - scientists expect to be able to pinpoint top carbon emitters, though monitoring is not among the mission's goals.

One more SPECIE Endangered..!

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 03:20:00 pm

Emperor penguins are in danger of dramatic declines by the end of the century due to climate change, says a study, suggesting the iconic animal "fully deserving of endangered status due to climate change". By the end of the century at least two-thirds of Emperor penguin colonies will have declined by more than half, the researchers projected. Emperor penguins are heavily dependent on sea ice for their livelihoods, and, therefore, are sensitive to changes in sea ice concentration (SIC).

"If sea ice declines at the rates projected by the IPCC (Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change) climate models, and continues to influence Emperor penguins as it did in the second half of the 20th century in Terre Adelie, at least two-thirds of the colonies are projected to have declined by greater than 50 percent from their current size by 2100," said Stephanie Jenouvrier, a biologist with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) in the US.

"None of the colonies, even the southern-most locations in the Ross Sea, will provide a viable refuge by the end of 21st century," Jenouvrier added.

The study appeared in the journal Nature Climate Change.

SELFIE...made easy..!

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 03:19:00 pm

A Swedish tech start-up has launched an app for Apple devices that lets people take photos of themselves without having to touch their screens.

Using touchless technology which it says is ideal for taking "selfies" or "groupies", Crunchfish's GoCam app lets users trigger photos or videos from a distance with just hand gestures. Photos can be triggered from a distance of up to 3 m (yards), it says.

The company, based in the southern Swedish city of Malmo, says the free GoCam app will be initially available in Sweden and Australia.

India soon to Own "Rafale Fighter Jets"

Rafale Fighter Jet

French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius has landed in the capital to close a stalled deal, to close deal of 126 Rafale fighter jets for Rs. 100,000 crores, built by Dassault Aviation.

The French minister will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley, who holds the twin portfolios of Defense and Finance. Now the government has to decide whether to go ahead with committing to the Rs. 100,000-crore contract, with a plan to spend the money over a decade.

Three technical committees have signed off on how transfer of technology and maintenance of the combat jets should be handled in the contract. A fourth committee that is looking at the overall costs needs the green-light from the government.

Cost escalations and disagreements about building the Rafale in partnership with India's state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited have complicated talks with France, and London has never entirely given up hope that it will return to the race.

India spent some $6 billion last year on weapons imports. It makes few of its own weapons, beyond ballistic missiles and assembly lines for foreign jets.

ISRO successfully launches PSLV C-23 into Space; A moment of pride for India

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 01:22:00 pm
PSLV C-23 was launched earlier today from the space and research centre at Sriharikota at 9:52 IST.

The launch was witnessed by PM Narendra Modi, who arrived earlier at Sriharikota on Sunday. The other prominent personalities to witness another landmark of India in the history of space research included the CM of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah, and the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh. Earlier, K Radhakrishnan, Chairman, ISRO, gave a brief presentation to the PM on India’s space programme, in the presence of senior scientists.

It was a commercial PSLV and the special fact about this launch was that it didn’t contain any satellites of India, rather it contained satellites from foreign nations of France, Germany, Canada and Singapore.

Post-launch, PM Modi addressed the people at ISRO and said that ”The launch fills every Indian's heart with pride. PSLV C-23 is a global endorsement of our space capabilities.” He also stated the development of quality equipment at cheaper costs as he said that “Our Mars Mission cheaper than the movie Gravity”.

ISRO has so far launched 35 satellites including payload from 19 nations across the globe which contributed much in the state of International Affairs and Foreign Exchange

Algeria might seek the 32 year old revenge against germany!!

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 02:35:00 am
It was back in 1982 that Germany and Austria played out what went down in the history books as the "Disgrace of Gijon" to eliminate Algeria from the World Cup.
On Monday in Porto Alegre, Algeria faces Germany for the first time since that infamous match — with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
This is likely the most uneven matchup in the Round of 16, but Germany has shown some weaknesses in group play and Algeria has shown flashes of being a threat on Monday.
Germany is obviously the heavy favorite entering the match, and one of the remaining favorites to win the World Cup.
With Ramadan set to begin over the weekend, Halilhodzic suggested that his players would receive a special dispensation from a traveling imam to avoid fasting ahead of the Germany game.
Germany, meanwhile, is in perfect health after its 1-0 win over the United States.
"We are very ambitions and we have big goals," said Thomas Mueller, the team's top scorer with four goals.
While Mueller's lineup spot is not in question, Mario Goetze should replace Lukas Podolski at the other forward position. Podolski was ruled out Saturday with an undescribed leg injury.
Loew is likely to keep defensive midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger in the lineup in place of Sami Khedira.
Schweinsteiger was praised for his performance against the Americans but he doesn't seem to have energy for more than 70 minutes after nursing a knee injury before the World Cup.
The winner at the Estadio Beira-Rio will go on to play France or Nigeria.
"We are basically taking the rivals as they come, we are focusing on ourselves. We wanted to be first in the group at any cost and we achieved it," Loew said. "It's all or nothing now."

NASA launches Mars 'flying saucer' on Earth;Parachute failure marked an abrupt landing!!

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 02:08:00 am
NASA'S  LDSD vehicle

NASA has tested new technology designed to bring spacecraft — and one day even astronauts — safely down to Mars, with the agency declaring the experiment a qualified success even though a giant parachute got tangled on the way down.
Saturday's $150 million experiment is the first of three involving the Low Density Supersonic Decelerator vehicle. Tests are being conducted at high altitude on Earth to mimic descent through the thin atmosphere of the Red Planet.
A balloon hauled the saucer-shaped craft 120,000 feet into the sky from a Navy missile range on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Then, the craft's own rocket boosted it to more than 30 miles high at supersonic speeds.
As the craft prepared to fall back to earth, a doughnut-shaped tube around it expanded like a Hawaiian puffer fish, creating atmospheric drag to dramatically slow it down from Mach 4, or four times the speed of sound.
Then the parachute unfurled — but only partially. The vehicle made a hard landing in the Pacific Ocean.
Engineers won't look at the parachute problem as a failure but as a way to learn more and apply that knowledge during future tests, said NASA engineer Dan Coatta with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
"In a way, that's a more valuable experience for us than if everything had gone exactly according to plan," he said.
A ship was sent to recover a "black box" designed to separate from the vehicle and float. Outfitted with a GPS beacon, the box contains the crucial flight data that scientists are eager to analyze.
NASA investigators expect to know more once they have analyzed data from the box, which they expect to retrieve Sunday along with the vehicle and parachute. They also expect to recover high resolution video.
"We've got a lot to look at," Ian Clark, principal investigator at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, told reporters on a teleconference.
Since the twin Viking spacecraft landed on the red planet in 1976, NASA has relied on a parachute to slow landers and rovers.
But the latest experiment involved both the drag-inducing device and a parachute that was 110 feet in diameter — twice as large as the one that carried the 1-ton Curiosity rover in 2011.
Cutting-edge technologies are needed to safely land larger payloads on Mars, enabling delivery of supplies and materials "and to pave the way for future human explorers," a NASA statement said.
Technology development "is the surest path to Mars," said Michael Gazarik, head of space technology at NASA headquarters.

Android L (rumoured as Lollipop)

Posted By: Unknown - 6/30/2014 12:26:00 am
Recently in the Developers Conference held in San Francisco,Google has released the preview version of its new android phone platform called Android L.Some rumors state that the new OS will be named as Lollipop but there is no official announcement about it.Its the next generation Android OS which is announced soon after the release of the 4.4.4 Kitkat update which had the Open SSL bugs fixed.
It is supposed to be the next in the android lineup as v4.5 or v5.0 which is yet to be declared, after the Android Kitkat which was v4.4 .

MATERIAL DESIGN

The UI of the new OS will have a 3D look with the help of 3D tiles that would slide over each other, which would provide a much bolder, colourful and animated as compared to the previous versions.
The new UI has been named as "MATERIAL DESIGN" by Google. The emphasis has been laid upon a flatter UI with rounder elements, softer edges and shadows.
The navigation button has been redesigned but the overall functionality remains the same.

IMPROVED HUMAN INTERACTION

The tech Giant seeks a better interaction between the phone and its user through the new OS. It could be unlocked by user’s voice even without touching the phone. The voice command is a major input source in the new OS.
The apps could be invoked, the alarm and scheduler could be set and many more functionalities with only a command of user’s voice.

NOTIFICATIONS AND LOCK SCREEN

A major change introduced in this new version is the presentibility of the notifications to the user. The notification panel will be merged in the lock screen and could be seen without unlocking the phone.
The notifications could be categorized and personalized according to the needs of the user.
Another major change is the popping up of important notifications during gaming or video playback. The important notifications even such as calls or messages will be displayed in a small popup window at the top and user can decide whether to take it or not.

PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY-CONSUMPTION

The new OS has an improved performance as it works with the ARM, x86 and MIPS platforms and runs twice as fast as the Dalvik run time found in previous versions prior to the Kitkat.
It supports a 64 bit processor which means a faster multitasking experience for the users.
In the end, however the phone maybe smart, for a common user, it always ends upon the battery life. Well good news to them, the new OS will be powered by "Project Volta" which is a new step taken by Google in field of energy conservation.
This mode is believed to increase the battery life by as much as 90 minutes which is a great relief if you don't have any time for charging.

NEW APPS

Android L will be supporting the Android T.V which is an effort of Google to re-conciliate its image after the failure of the Google T.V .The users can also enjoy the support of "Google Fit" which monitors the physical activities of the user. You will be able to get your fitness data on your smart watch or other devices.
The search has also been presented in a new way. Your search results will be returned in the form of Cards.

Although the developers will be receiving the preview update in late June, the common users will have to wait till the year fall for the update to reach their devices. According to the rumours, HTC One family and Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 Tablet could be the first devices to receive the update.
