UPSC declared the results of
Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2014 on 14 October 2014. This
year a total of 16,933 candidates out of 4,52,334 have succeeded the
examination and are selected to appear for the main examination which is
going to be held on 14 December 2014.
The prelims examination was conducted on 24 August 2014. The examination is conducted to select the country’s top bureaucracy. According to reports, this year a rise of 40% in the number of students has been witnessed as compared to last year. Last year about 3,24,279 students appeared for the examination.
This time the results for the examination are declared early so that students can get some more time to prepare well for the main examination.
The selected candidates have to fill up the detailed application form (DAF) available on the commission’s website from 18 October 2014 to 11 November 2014.
