BEIJING: A two-year-old dog owned by a smoker in China has picked up his master's habit and become so addicted to smoking that it must have a cigarette before going to sleep.
The husky in Anda, Heilongjiang province began smoking last year, when it was adopted, according to its owner, a man surnamed Liu.
The dog, named Meiya, was always around Liu when he smoked and showed enjoyment of the smoke, 'Heilongjiang Morning Post' reported.
Now the canine must have a cigarette before going to sleep.
According to 'ecns.cn', Meiya is particularly interested in Yuxi cigarettes, a brand favoured by Liu.
However, Liu is concerned about his pet's health and hopes to help the dog quit smoking as soon as possible.
