Here's some great news if you are subscribed to Tata Docomo and love watching videos on the go via YouTube. According to reports, popular video streaming site YouTube has agreed a deal with Tata Docomo to allow the telecom firm's prepaid users watch online videos at 3G at a subsidized price of Rs. 9.
In case you didn't know by now, Tata Docomo already offers 3G data plans starting Rs. 8 per day. And this new deal is sure to attract more customers in the near future.
With the new deal in place, users can watch 100 MB worth of videos for Rs. 9 (offer valid for 24 hours) on YouTube. And this also includes Apalya's Live TV streaming service. Users can also opt for more as they can have access to 150 MB (valid for 3 days) for Rs. 19.
As announced, YouTube, Apalya Technologies and +Tata Docomo will offer the new video data plan called 'YouTube Recharge.' This will offer users nearly 50 per cent discount from regular data charges to watch videos online. "This is part of our efforts to make video content more affordable to a large base of mobile Internet users in the country. This is the first of its kind partnership in India," YouTube Director (Content Partnerships and Operations) Asia Pacific Gautam Anand told PTI. India has a large prepaid market and we want to take data consumption to the masses," Tata Docomo Head (Data and Mobile VAS) Anand Agrawal further added.
